Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile field for cardiovascular surgeries including open hearts, CABG, valve replacements, and thoracic procedures
• Assist surgeons as first scrub during complex cases like aneurysms, ECMO, and Impella placements
• Manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for each procedure
• Cross-train and float to general OR specialties or provide 1:1 patient sitting as needed
• Participate in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt response within 15 minutes

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent CVOR surgical tech experience
• Must be willing to cross-train into general OR and float to patient sitting
• Ability to first scrub for open heart cases (CABG, valves, aneurysms)
• Comfortable with call requirements: 3-4 weeknights per week and rotating weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in open heart surgeries, CABG, valves, and thoracic cases
• Proficiency with robotic systems (e.g., ION) and advanced cardiac devices (ECMO, Impella)
• Strong sterile technique and aseptic practices
• Excellent teamwork and communication in high-pressure environments
• Willingness to float and adapt to varying case volumes
