Location: Chicago, Illinois

End Date: 05-24-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating weekends and holidays, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with on-call one night every 2 weeks and one weekend every 6 weeks; open to 4x10s or 3x12s

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $28 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment and supplies are ready for procedures
Assist surgeons during a variety of cases including open hearts, medical, and orthopedic surgeries
Maintain sterile fields and follow strict infection control protocols
Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver exceptional patient care in a busy OR environment
Document procedures accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Qualifications

Active BLS certification
DCI/BVP certification
Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy operating room
EPIC experience required
Ability to take call and work rotating weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
Familiarity with open heart, orthopedic, and general surgical procedures
Proficiency with EPIC documentation system
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
