Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders to build personalized plans of care
• Design and implement evidence-based SLP interventions that help patients regain function and confidence
• Collaborate with nurses, PT/OT, physicians and family members to coordinate comprehensive rehabilitation
• Document progress clearly and timely in the medical record and adjust treatment plans as patients progress
• Provide patient and family education to support carryover and meaningful outcomes
• Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives within the rehab setting

Qualifications

• State licensure or eligibility to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in Delaware
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or equivalent clinical certification
• Experience in inpatient rehabilitation, post-acute care, or similar settings preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of adult dysphagia and cognitive-communication disorders
• Familiarity with rehab-focused treatment modalities and outcome measurement
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and timely clinical documentation
• Excellent interpersonal skills for patient/family education and team-based care
• Adaptable clinical problem solving for a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
