Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor MedSurg patients’ conditions, spotting changes early and acting decisively
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care that supports recovery and dignity
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate treatment plans
• Document patient status and interventions clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up
• Advocate for patient needs and work to maintain a safe, efficient unit (1:5 ratio)

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Oklahoma licensure required for practice
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS or other certifications a plus
• Clinical experience or comfort working on a MedSurg unit; comfort with a 1:5 patient ratio
• Ability to work the posted long day shift hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and prioritization skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg assessment skills and familiarity with common adult medical/surgical conditions
• Medication administration, IV insertion/management, and tubing/infusion knowledge
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) charting and documentation
• Clinical judgment, triage and time management in a fast-paced unit
• Patient education, discharge planning, and family communication
