Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care and treatments for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia and COPD — your interventions matter.
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation (Servo, Hamilton and similar ventilators) to optimize patient respiratory support.
• Initiate and monitor CPAP, BiPAP and nebulizer therapies, adjusting based on patient response.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis to guide clinical decisions.
• Deliver chest physiotherapy (CPT) and other airway clearance techniques as clinically indicated.
• Document all assessments and treatments in Meditech accurately and timely — clear documentation saves lives and headaches.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses and interdisciplinary teams during routine care and emergent/trauma situations.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment for better outcomes and smoother discharges.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience (required)
• Previous Meditech EMR experience (preferred by director)
• Trauma experience (preferred)
• Strong team-player attitude, critical thinking skills and comfort in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator modes
• CPAP and BiPAP setup and monitoring
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
• Nebulizer therapies and aerosol delivery systems
• Chest physiotherapy (CPT) and airway clearance techniques
• Familiarity with Servo, Hamilton and Astral-style equipment
• Proficient documentation in Meditech
• Experience working in acute care/trauma environments and handling high-acuity cases
