Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform rapid triage and thorough patient assessments in a high-acuity emergency setting
• Deliver time-sensitive interventions including RSI and sepsis management
• Administer stroke protocols and support tPA preparation and monitoring when indicated
• Provide central line care and support procedures for placement and post-procedure management
• Coordinate EMTALA transfers and collaborate with receiving facilities to ensure continuity of care
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR
• Work as a constructive, team-oriented clinician to support departmental flow and patient safety
• Support and mentor colleagues while maintaining a calm, respectful bedside presence

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure appropriate for practice in the assignment state (ability to obtain/maintain state authorization)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• TNCC preferred; ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale familiarity a plus
• Must have completed 2-3 prior travel assignments
• 2-3 years of emergency department nursing experience required
• Comfort with high-acuity, fast-paced emergency care and patient ratios typical of the unit

• Emergency nursing and high-acuity patient care

• Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)
• Sepsis recognition and interventions
• Stroke protocol management and tPA administration
• Central line care and related procedures
• EMTALA transfer processes and inter-facility coordination
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical records
