Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients, maintaining safety and dignity at every step
• Manage advanced airway care including intubation and ventilator management when needed
• Care for patients with invasive lines — central lines and arterial lines — and monitor for complications
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, RTs, pharmacists, case management) to develop and execute patient plans
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR (Meditech) and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Support unit-based policies and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture
• Assist in the care of specialty patients (EVD, oncology, neuro, BMT) as directed by core staff

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (valid in Texas or eligible to obtain Texas licensure)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU / critical care nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Comfort with advanced ICU procedures: intubation support, central line and arterial line care
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR is preferred
• Ability to float to other ICUs, BMT and PCU floors and work collaboratively

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Familiarity with standard ICU equipment and ventilator management
• Proven skills in central line and arterial line management
• Experience or comfort with neuro and oncology critical care patients (preferred)
• Proficient documentation practices in Meditech or equivalent EMR
• Team-player attitude, accountability, and strong communication skills
