Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic and sonographic examinations across the lifespan with professional judgment and radiation protection best practices
• Provide comprehensive mammography services including screening, diagnostic, specimen radiography, breast needle localization, stereotactic breast biopsy support, and quality control
• Perform CT procedures, assist with interventional cases, set up and run automatic injectors, and adjust contrast protocols by age group
• Maintain accurate patient records, QC documentation, and departmental record maintenance
• Participate actively in the department quality assurance program and daily/weekly QC tasks
• Assist in invasive procedures, sterile technique, venipuncture, and tele-radiology transmission as needed
• Rotate shifts, accept on-call responsibilities, and assume department responsibility in the absence of a supervisor
• Support supply inventory, ordering, and general department hygiene and readiness
• Attend department meetings, in-services, and disaster drills; pursue required CEUs and competency documentation

Qualifications

• Current ARRT in Radiography required
• BLS (American Heart Association) required within 45 days of start
• Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Able to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modalities (mammography and CT required)
• Willingness to rotate shifts, take on-call duties, and travel to other SEARHC sites as needed
• Competence in sterile technique, contrast administration, and tele-radiology transmission preferred

Education

• Certification-focused role: ARRT (Radiography) required; ARDMS credentials accepted for modality-specific roles
• No specific academic degree listed; certification and demonstrated clinical competency are primary requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care across the lifespan and ability to assess developmentally appropriate needs
• Principles of radiation protection and diagnostic imaging safety
• Mammography techniques, QC, and ACR/FDA mammography documentation requirements
• CT operation, contrast administration, automatic injector setup, and interventional procedure support
• Quality assurance practices and QC documentation
• Venipuncture skills, sterile technique, and competence with teleradiology systems
