Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to ICU patients during overnight shifts, including continuous monitoring and timely interventions
• Perform advanced assessments and initiate appropriate nursing actions based on patient condition and protocols
• Deliver ACLS-level interventions when needed and participate in emergency responses
• Administer medications, manage ventilators and advanced support devices per unit guidelines
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans
• Accurately document patient status, treatments and changes in condition in the medical record
• Be prepared to float to acute floors when staffing demands require it, providing flexible, competent patient care
• Participate in Trinity competency testing and skills checklists to maintain unit standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential (state-appropriate) with license/certificate verification
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required (per checklist)
• Experience in ICU or critical care nursing preferred (comfort with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drips)
• Ability to work overnight shifts, every third weekend and every other holiday as described
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist required
• Pass required health screenings: Fit Test, drug screen, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella), 2-step PPD or IGRA, and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Proficiency with ACLS protocols and emergency response
• Comfort with ICU equipment including ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring
• Excellent communication and teamwork across interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize in fast-paced, high-acuity situations
• Flexibility to float to acute care floors and adapt to varying patient populations
