Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor respiratory status of acute care patients and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Manage ventilators and perform advanced respiratory interventions with precision
• Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and assist with airway management and code responses
• Perform aerosol therapies, airway clearance techniques, and other respiratory procedures
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care
• Document treatments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Participate in competency testing and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high standards
• Adhere to infection control practices, fit testing protocols, and PPE requirements

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapy license/certification (License/Certificate Verification required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; CRT with strong acute care experience will be considered
• BLS required; NRP preferred
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Must meet facility health requirements: fit test, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, varicella, Tdap, physical/health statement, and drug screen

• Arterial blood gas interpretation and respiratory assessment

• Acute care respiratory therapy practices and protocols
• Strong clinical judgment and interdisciplinary communication
• Proficiency with respiratory equipment and bedside documentation
