Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to adult patients on a med-surg oncology unit
• Administer treatments and medications safely, following oncology protocols and facility policies
• Monitor patients closely overnight and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and execute patient care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient education accurately in Cerner EMR
• Assist with occasional procedures such as thoracentesis and echo-related preparations
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Support unit flow and help maintain safe patient-to-nurse ratios

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience (as stated in the posting)
• Oncology or med-surg experience strongly preferred
• Chemo Certification is a plus and will make your application stand out
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR for documentation and medication administration

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid oncology nursing knowledge and med-surg skills
• Familiarity with chemotherapy administration and safety practices (preferred)
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical record systems
• Strong assessment and clinical judgment during overnight shifts
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with interdisciplinary staff
• Good time management and documentation skills
