Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead perioperative teams during weekend day shifts, ensuring safe, efficient OR flow
• Coordinate staff assignments and resources as the charge nurse for the shift
• Oversee patient care delivery in the operating room and communicate priorities clearly
• Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate appropriately to maintain continuity of care
• Mentor and support perioperative staff, promoting best practices and team development
• Ensure compliance with infection control, sterile technique, and OR safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia, and ancillary services to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum one year of current perioperative charge nurse or relief charge nurse experience (required)
• CNOR certification (desired)
• Two or more years of Critical Care experience (desired)
• Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and OR workflow expertise
• Charge nurse leadership and staff coordination
• Sterile technique and infection prevention practices
• Patient assessment and perioperative safety protocols
• Ability to prioritize cases and manage OR resources
• Familiarity with ACLS interventions and emergency response in the OR
