Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients' mental health status and recognize signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems
Develop individualized care plans based on the unique needs of each patient
Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
Provide immediate crisis intervention and de-escalation support during psychiatric emergencies
Build trust and rapport with patients through therapeutic communication and active listening
Monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms including vital signs and mental status changes
Collaborate with the care team to evaluate outcomes and adjust interventions as needed

Qualifications

Active RN license in Missouri or compact license
BLS certification required
CPI certification required
Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience
Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills

Knowledge & Skills

Mental health assessment and psychiatric disorder recognition
Therapeutic communication and patient rapport building
Psychotropic medication knowledge and monitoring
Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
Care planning and outcome evaluation
Meditech documentation system experience
