Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide continuous airway management for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients
• Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators (PB 980, PB 840, V60, ParaPac Transport Vent)
• Perform and document respiratory assessments and interventions using computerized charting
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on respiratory care plans
• Deliver CPR and other emergency airway interventions when needed
• Safely handle medication administration workflows (Pyxis medication management)
• Maintain equipment competency and participate in unit-level quality and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current RRT required
• Hawaii Respiratory Therapist License required by start of assignment (current preferred; applicants who have submitted HI license application will be considered)
• BLS and ACLS required
• PALS and NRP preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience caring for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients
• Proof of flu vaccination or facility-approved medical/religious exception required prior to contract start
• No first assignments — traveler must have prior travel experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Airway management and emergency respiratory interventions
• Competence with PB 980 and PB 840 ventilators, V60 and ParaPac Transport Vent
• Experience with computerized charting systems
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication management
• Strong clinical assessment and interdisciplinary communication skills
