Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Varying start times between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM, with possible weekend call, on-call requirements, and holiday shifts.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional nursing care to orthopedic patients before, during, and after surgery
Assist surgeons during orthopedic procedures in the operating room
Monitor patient vital signs and administer medications as ordered
Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

Qualifications

Active RN license in the state of Iowa (or compact license)
Minimum of 2 years of recent orthopedic nursing experience
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
NIHSS certification
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of orthopedic surgical procedures and instruments
Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to varying start times and on-call requirements
Compassionate patient-centered care approach
