Shift Type: 3x12-hour Night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM NOC, self-scheduled (night), every other weekend required; floating to similar units as needed

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry to detect and respond to dysrhythmias quickly and confidently
• Start and maintain IVs and manage peripheral and central line care
• Provide med-surg nursing care to adult patients using evidence-based practices
• Document care accurately in EPIC and follow SBAR communication for safe handoffs
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams when needed to support patient safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and phlebotomy to coordinate care
• Adhere to unit policies, holiday coverage expectations, and the strong call-off policy

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (HARD STOP: 2 years required)
• EPIC experience required - do not screen without it
• BCLS required prior to start
• ACLS and NIHSS preferred (nice-to-have)
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring and med-surg patient populations
• Willingness to float to similar units and work every other weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/EKG testing
• IV therapy, IV start, blood product administration, peripheral line care
• Central line blood draw and accessing/managing ports
• Use of EPIC for charting and unit documentation
• Rapid Response/Code team participation and emergency response
• Respiratory care basics: nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration
• Wound care and use of Wound Vac, isolation precautions and PPE
• Familiarity with unit systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
