Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care for adults in the ICU
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, ventilator settings, and other advanced monitoring
• Administer medications and vasoactive infusions safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans
• Perform thorough assessments and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Support families with clear, compassionate communication during stressful times
• Document interventions and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
• Participate in unit initiatives to improve outcomes, safety, and patient experience

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana licensure or compact RN license as applicable)
• Experience or strong interest in critical care/ICU nursing; previous ICU experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex patients, prioritize tasks, and work in fast-paced settings
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Current immunizations and any facility-required health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and airway support fundamentals
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of invasive lines
• Administration and titration of vasoactive medications
• Critical thinking for rapid assessment and decision-making
• Proficient documentation and charting in electronic health record systems
• Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
