Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and pediatric cases
• Manage central lines, chest tubes, rapid transfusions, and critical drips like Propofol, Levophed, and Cardene
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including MDs, NPs, PAs, and techs in a fast-paced Level III Trauma and Primary Stroke Center
• Float between Bryan and College Station campuses (16 minutes apart) as needed
• Participate in triage after skill assessment, handling 'first eyes' nursing for incoming patients
• Respond to codes and rapid responses as a charge nurse when needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience in a similar volume and trauma-level setting
• Comfortable with central line placement, MTP, chest tubes, trauma, STEMIs, and strokes
• Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83%) before signing contract (three attempts given)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with PulseCheck or Picis EMR preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency nursing, trauma nursing, and stroke care
• Proficient in central line placement, chest tube management, and MTP
• Administering and monitoring critical drips (Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitro, sedation, Levophed)
• Strong dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Ability to care for patients across the lifespan from pediatrics to geriatrics
