Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients with diverse conditions, from minor injuries to critical emergencies.
• Perform laboratory tests, EKGs, patient transfers, and other essential procedures to support efficient patient care.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team including physicians, mid-levels, and techs to maintain a positive and efficient workflow.
• Ensure sterile field maintenance during procedures like Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Stabilize and transfer critically ill patients to appropriate facilities, ensuring continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required).
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting assignment.
• No facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit test.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required (50-mile radius rule applies).
• Ability to float between Glendale and Litchfield FSEDs.
• Previous ED experience preferred; lower acuity trauma experience welcomed.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry systems.
• Competence in sterile field technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to maintain a positive unit culture.
• Ability to perform labs, EKGs, and patient transfers independently.
