Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care across a variety of urgent clinical presentations
• Lead and coordinate patient flow as an experienced charge nurse during night shifts
• Perform rapid assessment and prioritization of patients using stroke and trauma protocols (NIHSS, TNCC)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create safe, patient-centered care plans
• Document accurately in the electronic health record and verify demographics via Nursys as required
• Mentor and support unit staff during night operations and assist with clinical decision-making
• Maintain readiness for emergency interventions with current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications

Qualifications

• Current Washington State RN license or Multi-state (compact) RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certification/competency as required
• Completion of approved 6-hour suicide prevention training
• Demonstrated Emergency Department nursing experience
• Prior charge nurse experience on ED shifts
• Ability to be fully available for scheduling during the contract and to pick up extra shifts as needed
• Nursys verification of demographics required

Education

• Active RN licensure required (degree/diploma in nursing not specified by client)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency department clinical judgment and triage skills
• Experience with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems (helpful but not required)
• Excellent teamwork and communication under pressure
• Ability to manage unit flow and delegate effectively as charge nurse
• Comfort with nightshift dynamics and independently managing critical situations
• Flexible scheduling mindset and willingness to support staffing needs
