Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to emergency patients
Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization in dynamic ED settings
Administer medications, treatments, and monitor patient response
Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff for coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and maintain clear communication
Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives within the ED
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, care plans, and follow-up

Qualifications

Current RN license in Louisiana (or compact RN license that covers LA)
Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Experience in Emergency Department/ER nursing preferred
Ability to work 12+ hour shifts in a fast-paced environment
Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Relevant emergency nursing certifications encouraged

Knowledge & Skills

Emergency triage and rapid assessment skills
Familiarity with ED workflows, procedures, and equipment
Medication administration and IV therapy competence
Electronic medical record documentation skills
Calm under pressure with excellent prioritization abilities
Strong interpersonal skills for patient- and family-centered care
