Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert peri-procedural nursing care in a combined Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Cath Lab environment
• Scrub and circulate for diagnostic and interventional cardiac and IR procedures, including EP device implants
• Respond to STEMI and emergent IR/cardiology callbacks with a target 30-minute response for STEMIs
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias during procedures
• Collaborate with a three-person call team (including at least one RN) to deliver 24/7 emergent coverage
• Administer and monitor procedural/conscious sedation and assist with hemodynamic monitoring including PA/Swan-Ganz
• Maintain accurate Epic charting and clear communication with interdisciplinary teams for safe patient transitions

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology experience required
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in North Carolina)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, NIH
• Comfortable providing STEMI call coverage and emergent procedure response
• Familiarity with Epic electronic charting system (required)
• Local candidates accepted; first-time travelers are welcome
• Able to interview within 72 hours of submission (manager will interview candidates prior to approval)
• Flu vaccine required per facility policy (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (North Carolina)
• Nursing degree (ADN/BSN) or equivalent clinical nursing education

Knowledge & Skills

• Scrub and circulate techniques for cath lab and IR procedures
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Interventional Radiology (IR) and Diagnostic/Interventional Cardiac Cath lab procedures
• STEMI call protocols and rapid response workflow
• Procedural/conscious sedation monitoring and ventilator support basics
• IV start, pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) monitoring, and EP procedure support
• Comfortable with MAC Lab, IVUS, Angio systems, Thrombectomy devices and ultrasound guidance
• Proficient with Epic charting and effective interdisciplinary communication
