Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations with precision and care
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment while following safety and radiation protection standards
• Prepare and position patients compassionately, ensuring comfort and clear communication
• Manage digital image capture, proper labeling, and timely upload to PACS
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to support efficient patient flow and optimal care
• Maintain accurate exam documentation and adhere to facility protocols and infection control practices
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by explaining procedures and addressing concerns

Qualifications

• ARRT certification preferred or registry eligible
• Current Louisiana radiologic technologist license or ability to obtain state licensure
• BLS/CPR certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and trauma cases
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including safe patient transfers

Education

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited radiography program
• Completion of credentialing requirements for ARRT or equivalent registry

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in diagnostic radiography and patient positioning
• Familiarity with digital imaging systems and PACS workflow
• Understanding of radiation safety principles and ALARA practices
• Ability to operate portable and fixed radiography equipment
• Basic EMR navigation and accurate documentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient interaction and teamwork
