Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled evaluation and develop individualized treatment plans for patients
• Deliver direct patient care including manual therapy, transfer training, gait and balance work
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for each patient on your caseload
• Coordinate with the Rehab Director and interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Supervise and mentor support staff to ensure safe, effective therapeutic interventions
• Report and interpret treatment results to inform ongoing care and billing accuracy
• Plan and present in-service education for staff and participate in patient-care meetings
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, therapy goals, and home programs

Qualifications

• Current Florida physical therapy license (required for submission)
• Certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• Ability to perform physical tasks safely, including lifting and assisting patients (minimal assist transfers up to 50 lbs)
• Comfort with documentation, billing/reporting processes, and Medicare/private insurance guidelines

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient evaluation and treatment planning
• Proficient with manual therapy techniques, transfer and gait training
• Strong documentation and records maintenance practices
• Experience with billing/reporting and compliance with Medicare and facility policies
• Ability to assess balance, mobility, and functional needs and adjust treatment accordingly
• Effective communicator for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Comfort supervising support staff and developing in-service trainings
