Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the physical therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans and therapeutic exercises
• Deliver hands-on care including gait training, balance activities, and mobility support to help patients regain independence
• Monitor patient progress and accurately document treatment notes in the medical record
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to promote coordinated care
• Prepare treatment areas and maintain therapy equipment to ensure a safe environment
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises and safe techniques to support recovery
• Support quality improvement initiatives and follow facility policies and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Licensed or licensed-eligible Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Oklahoma (required)
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with adults in an outpatient/rehab setting; prior PTA experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach to patient care
• Ability to document clearly and follow care plans accurately

Education

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise principles, modalities, and gait training
• Skilled in patient assessment, progress monitoring, and adapting interventions
• Familiarity with documentation practices and electronic medical records
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility devices
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate patients
• Time management and organizational skills to manage a varied caseload
