Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 05-29-2026

End Date: 08-28-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across acute inpatient units
Help patients recover from surgeries like TKA, THA, and spinal procedures with personalized treatment plans
Support stroke recovery and general medical patients in regaining strength and mobility
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER settings
Document progress and adjust care plans to maximize patient outcomes
Mentor and guide patients through every step of their rehabilitation journey

Qualifications

Active California PT license required
BLS certification
Acute Inpatient PT experience is essential
Comfortable working with a variety of diagnoses including ortho, neuro, and general medical patients

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and treatment planning abilities for acute care settings
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with nurses, physicians, and families
Ability to manage a fast-paced caseload while delivering compassionate care
Flexibility to cover multiple hospital units as needed
