General Surgeon

Location: Dickinson, North Dakota

Start Date: 06-10-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Ongoing schedule with 14 days per month plus 10 days of call, including clinic coverage Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and surgery days Tuesday and Thursday

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive general surgery coverage including clinic, surgery, and call
Perform abdominal, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and other essential procedures
Round on general surgery patients and handle admissions and phone consults
Respond to emergent cases 24/7 with a 20-minute response time
Collaborate with CRNA group for anesthesia coverage

Qualifications

Board Certified General Surgeon highly preferred
Board Eligible within 3 years of US residency training required
Current ACLS and DEA certifications required
North Dakota license highly preferred or IMLC eligibility
Clean professional record with no active monitoring agreements

Knowledge & Skills

Strong expertise in general, abdominal, and laparoscopic surgery
Experience with endoscopy, liver, stomach, gallbladder, appendix, colon, and spleen procedures
Comfort managing pediatric, thyroid, pulmonary, and vascular cases preferred
Ability to handle clinic visits, surgical cases, and 24/7 call coverage
Excellent communication for phone consults and patient rounding
