Location: Yakima, WA

Start Date: 07-13-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Tuesday-Thursday, 12-hour day shifts (times vary based on surgery schedule)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients' physical, psychological, and educational needs before and after surgery
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
Monitor vital signs, diagnostic results, and report abnormalities to physicians
Provide compassionate post-operative care and discharge teaching to patients and families
Document all care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
Support the surgical team by preparing patients and ensuring a safe environment

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license in Washington State (must be currently active)
Minimum 2 years of recent Preop/PACU or perioperative nursing experience
BLS and ACLS certifications required – PALS, NRP, and others preferred
Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for extended periods

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in pre-operative and post-anesthesia care
Knowledge of ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and other emergency protocols
Strong critical thinking and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Excellent patient education and family communication skills
