Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient mobility, function, and rehabilitation needs to create effective treatment plans
• Deliver hands-on therapy and progressive interventions for TKA, THA, spinal surgery, CVA, and general medical patients
• Implement individualized plans of care and adjust treatment based on patient response and goals
• Provide clear, timely documentation in Cerner to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab aides to coordinate safe, patient-centered care across Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER areas
• Float between units as needed to meet patient needs and maintain quality service
• Supervise and support rehab aides to optimize patient throughput and outcomes
• Participate in department orientation and ongoing training to stay current with facility systems and protocols

Qualifications

• Current CA Physical Therapist license (required)
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient physical therapy experience
• Proven experience with Cerner charting or similar EHR systems
• Comfort managing a caseload of approximately 12 patients per day
• Ability to float between Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER and adapt to varied patient acuity

Knowledge & Skills

• Acute inpatient physical therapy principles and interventions
• Medical/surgical patient care and critical care awareness for ICU and ER settings
• Orthopedic rehabilitation including TKA and THA
• Spinal surgery rehabilitation and stroke (CVA) management
• Efficient Cerner documentation and charting practices
• Patient safety, mobility assistance, and interdisciplinary communication
