Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality PCU/stepdown nursing care for adult and geriatric patients
• Monitor telemetry and continuous EEG when indicated, responding to changes promptly
• Titrate drips and manage common titratable medications safely (e.g., Cardizem, beta blockers, seizure meds)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-focused care plans
• Perform thorough assessments and document in EPIC to ensure continuity and accuracy of care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions with compassion
• Support unit operations by communicating clearly, pitching in with teammates, and adapting when floating to med/surgical/ICU/rehab

Qualifications

• Current RN license (eligible to work in Nebraska) — License to submit required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (PCU/Stepdown or similar acute care)
• Demonstrated experience with titration of drips and telemetry monitoring
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Driver's license required at time of submittal to confirm radius eligibility
• Candidates may NOT be currently employed FT/PT/PRN with any CommonSpirit facility (including CHI and Dignity)

Education

• Active RN license; BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Telemetry and continuous EEG monitoring knowledge
• Stroke care, seizure medication management, cardiac and nephrology familiarity
• Ability to safely titrate IV drips and follow protocols
• Solid clinical assessment and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with adults and geriatric populations in an acute care/stepdown setting
