Shift Type: Weekdays (Monday-Friday), 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM day shift (10-hour); guaranteed 40 hours/week; one weekday on-call per week; one weekend on-call per month (Friday-Saturday-Sunday) on a rotating basis; shift negotiable/adjustable as needed

Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub into cardiovascular cases, including open heart procedures, and assist with holding the heart and chest closure
• Participate in endovascular and TAVR cases, ensuring sterile technique and patient safety throughout
• Document case details and patient care in Epic accurately and promptly
• Respond to call assignments within a 30-minute response time when on-call
• Float to General OR as needed to support staffing and maintain workflow
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, techs, and the perioperative team to deliver high-quality care
• Support unit orientation and share best practices with new team members

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for practice in Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of perioperative or OR nursing experience (CVOR experience preferred)
• Open Heart and/or Endovascular experience required
• BLS (AHA) required; ACLS preferred
• Comfortable and experienced with scrubbing and sterile technique
• Proven ability to chart in Epic or similar EMR systems
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to meet the 60-mile radius documentation requirement
• Available to be in-state for the week of orientation even if some modules are remote

Education

• Active RN license; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and CVOR workflow
• Scrubbing procedures and sterile technique for cardiac surgeries
• Familiarity with Open Heart, TAVR, thoracic, and endovascular cases
• Proficiency with Epic EMR charting
• Ability to respond to on-call situations quickly and calmly
• Team-oriented communication and collaboration in high-acuity settings
• Flexibility to float to General OR and support PRN needs
