Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the MST specialty
• Assess patient condition, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and aftercare
• Recognize and escalate changes in patient condition promptly and professionally

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (must be eligible to practice in California)
• Previous experience working in MST or a related medical-surgical specialty preferred
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications a plus
• Comfortable working independently on per-diem assignments and integrating quickly with new teams
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Familiarity with medication administration standards and safety practices
• Experience with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Good infection control practices and patient safety focus
• Compassionate patient education and family communication abilities
• Specific MST-related clinical skills (as applicable to the unit)
