Medical Assistant - Endocrinology
Location: Seattle, WA
Start Date: 04-06-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day). No weekends or holidays required
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Room patients efficiently and compassionately to ensure a smooth clinic flow
- Obtain and document vital signs including height, weight, pulse oximetry, and blood glucose via glucometer
- Record thorough patient histories, medication lists, and allergy information in Epic
- Perform specimen collection and proper labeling for capillary and urine testing
- Reconcile medication lists and assist with medication histories to support safe care
- Manage prior authorizations and insurance verification to keep care moving
- Handle inbasket messages and follow-up phone calls to close the loop with patients
- Prepare charts and exam rooms to keep providers on schedule and patients comfortable
Qualifications
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required or equivalent certification preferred
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of adult outpatient clinic experience
- Experience with Epic charting is required
- Proven experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations
- Strong communication skills for patient interaction and follow-up calls
- Comfortable with specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and routine lab tasks
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification (RMA) preferred
- BLS certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record
- Rooming patients and obtaining complete vital signs
- Medication reconciliation and accurate documentation
- Specimen collection, labeling, and basic point-of-care testing (glucometer, urinalysis)
- Experience managing prior authorizations and insurance verification workflows
- Ability to prepare charts, perform office duties, and manage inbasket communications
- Familiarity with adult outpatient clinic operations, especially endocrinology workflows
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
