Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist with and support a full range of interventional radiology procedures as both scrub and room circulator
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including PACS and Siemens systems, to produce high-quality procedural imaging
• Prepare and administer contrast media safely and according to protocol
• Set up sterile fields and maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures
• Support vascular and non-vascular procedures including angioplasty, IVC filter placement/removal, TIPS, embolizations, paracentesis and stent placements
• Perform catheter/drain exchanges and biliary drainage procedures with attention to patient safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent peri-procedural care
• Respond to assigned call shifts professionally and reliably as outlined in the contract

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
• Current ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required
• Comfortable scrubbing and circulating in interventional suites; ability to maintain sterile field
• Preferred experience in teaching hospitals, community hospitals, and Trauma Level I settings
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong familiarity with PACS imaging workflows and Siemens equipment
• Hands-on skills with angiography procedures, angioplasty, stent placements and IVC filter procedures
• Experience with TIPS procedures, embolizations, paracentesis, thoracentesis and genitourinary interventions
• Proficient in catheter/drain exchange techniques and biliary drainage procedures
• Knowledge of contrast handling and safety protocols
• Comfort caring for adolescents, adults and geriatric patients in procedural settings
• Ability to function in an interventional-only environment (no cath/EP, neuro or hybrid OR cases)
