Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate spiritual and emotional support to patients and families navigating end-of-life care
• Offer meaningful counseling and guidance during the final stages of illness
• Collaborate with the hospice team to deliver holistic care that honors each patient's beliefs and values
• Support bereavement needs and help families find comfort and peace
• Travel between home settings, skilled nursing facilities, and assisted living communities to bring care directly to patients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ordained, commissioned, licensed, or endorsed by a pastoral or spiritual community
• Experience or training in pastoral or spiritual care such as Stephen's Ministry or Clinical Pastoral Education
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and appropriate auto insurance
• Ability to travel between multiple care locations throughout Linn, Benton, Marion, Polk, Lincoln, and Tillamook Counties
• Minimum two years of relevant experience preferred

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Master's degree preferred
• Associate's degree in a related field plus two years of chaplain experience also accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and listening skills to connect with patients and families
• Ability to provide culturally sensitive spiritual support across diverse beliefs
• Comfort working independently in home and facility settings
• Excellent organizational skills to manage a multi-location schedule
• Compassionate presence and the ability to offer comfort during difficult times
