Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and set up endoscopy equipment for safe, efficient cases
• Assist physicians during procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy, ERCP, EBUS and EUS
• Perform high-level disinfection and cleaning of scopes and instruments to maintain patient safety
• Handle specimens accurately from collection through labeling and transport for pathology
• Restock and maintain procedural supplies, ensuring rooms are ready for the next patient
• Follow infection control and universal protocol (time out) procedures consistently
• Float within your scope of practice to support facility needs and ensure smooth workflow
• Participate in room turnover and closing procedures at the end of the day

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of endoscopy tech experience
• BLS certification required
• Hands-on experience with colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy; EUS, EBUS and ERCP skills required/preferred
• Comfort with high-level disinfection, scope cleaning and instrument processing
• Familiarity with Epic charting preferred
• Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Able to work on-call every 5th weekend
• Travel assignment requirement: permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers accepted; travel experience is not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced endoscopy procedures: Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EBUS, EUS
• High-level disinfection and sterilization processes for flexible endoscopes
• Instrument processing, scope care and room turnover best practices
• Specimen handling for gastric brushings, pathology specimens and frozen sections
• Use of endoscopy equipment: dilators, electrosurgical units, forceps, polyp snares, fiber optics
• Infection control principles and Universal Protocol (time out) compliance
• Charting in Epic and clear clinical communication with the care team
• Ability to work efficiently in both outpatient endoscopy center and inpatient acute hospital settings
