Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct nursing care to residents, prioritizing dignity and safety
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document interventions promptly
- Perform focused assessments and monitor vital signs, reporting changes to the care team
- Collaborate with RNs, CNAs and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate individualized care plans
- Maintain clear, timely charting in the resident record and support quality documentation practices
- Assist with activities of daily living and mobility, promoting resident independence when possible
- Uphold infection control standards and facility policies to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar care center settings preferred
- Ability to work per-diem Tue–Thu day shifts (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) and be reliably local — this is a local-only position
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a care team
- Evidence of good clinical judgment, time management, and patient-centered care
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing / LPN program (diploma or certificate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Resident assessment, vital sign monitoring, and basic wound care
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely charting
- Infection control procedures and safe patient handling
- Clear verbal and written communication with residents, families, and staff
- Teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize in a busy care setting
