Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct nursing care to residents, prioritizing dignity and safety
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document interventions promptly
• Perform focused assessments and monitor vital signs, reporting changes to the care team
• Collaborate with RNs, CNAs and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate individualized care plans
• Maintain clear, timely charting in the resident record and support quality documentation practices
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility, promoting resident independence when possible
• Uphold infection control standards and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar care center settings preferred
• Ability to work per-diem Tue–Thu day shifts (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM) and be reliably local — this is a local-only position
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a care team
• Evidence of good clinical judgment, time management, and patient-centered care

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing / LPN program (diploma or certificate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Resident assessment, vital sign monitoring, and basic wound care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely charting
• Infection control procedures and safe patient handling
• Clear verbal and written communication with residents, families, and staff
• Teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize in a busy care setting
