Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform ERCP, EUS, endoscopy and scoping procedures with high clinical quality
• Provide inpatient gastroenterology consults and management of GI bleeds
• Cover 24-hour on-call duties, responding promptly to patient needs and emergent consults
• Document encounters and procedures accurately in EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists and trauma teams in a Level I trauma center
• Complete required credentialing and EMR training in a timely manner to ensure readiness

Qualifications

• Active Colorado medical license or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact
• Willingness to complete NPDB self-inquiry and full credentialing paperwork quickly
• Proven experience performing ERCP and EUS; strong endoscopy/scoping skills
• Experience with inpatient gastroenterology consult service and GI bleed management
• EPIC EMR experience and ability to complete required modules and virtual training
• Level I trauma experience preferred and locum tenens experience a plus
• Comfort working without dedicated support staff and collaborating with onsite teams

Education

• MD or DO with completed Gastroenterology fellowship
• Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced endoscopic procedure skills including ERCP and EUS
• Inpatient consultative gastroenterology knowledge and GI bleed management
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR and virtual training workflows
• Strong clinical decision making in acute care and trauma settings
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to manage on-call responsibilities calmly and efficiently
