Roles & Responsibilities

Perform sonographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation
Apply professional judgment and radiation protection principles
Conduct diagnostic medical sonography across departments
Maintain accurate patient records and files
Lead departmental quality assurance efforts
Pursue ongoing continuing education
Assist with patient transfers and ancillary duties
Support ultrasound invasive procedures and equipment care

Qualifications

Current ARDMS certification in at least one category (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS)
Experience performing diagnostic exams in assigned ultrasound modalities
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
Ability to work with patients across all age groups from newborn to geriatric

Education

Current ARDMS certification (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS); pursue higher levels for Tech II-IV roles

Knowledge & Skills

Sonographic examination techniques
Patient care tailored to age-specific needs
Radiation protection principles
Diagnostic medical sonography in general, vascular, or cardiac fields
Quality assurance and continuing education commitment
