Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver top-notch age-specific prevention and periodontal care to patients from infants to geriatrics
Educate patients on oral disease prevention, home care, and nutrition
Perform thorough oral tissue exams, periodontal therapy, coronal polishing, fluoride applications, and x-rays
Manage patient schedules smoothly
Lead dental prevention activities like health fairs and sealant clinics
Maintain supplies and ensure instruments are sterilized and ready

Qualifications

Graduate of a two-year Dental Hygiene Program
Active Dental Hygiene License in Alaska or another U.S. state (Alaska preferred)
BLS certification required within 45 days of hire
Clinical Competency within 3 months and every 3 years
High Risk Competency within 3 months and annually

Education

Two-year Dental Hygiene Program graduate
Bachelor's Degree preferred
High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

Strong oral and written communication
Sharp clinical judgment
Excellent dexterity for hands-on work
Knowledge of infection control and periodontal disease principles
Proficiency in clinical hygiene techniques
