Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver expert nursing care for patients of all ages in emergency and acute settings
• Supervise team members to ensure top-notch patient safety and care
• Make independent clinical decisions with confidence during your shift
• Develop care plans and maintain warm, supportive environments for patients and families
• Respond calmly to emergencies, delegating effectively and leading with poise
• Maintain accurate records, transcribe orders, and keep supplies stocked for seamless operations
• Collaborate across departments to uphold the highest standards of nursing excellence

Qualifications

• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state (must apply for Alaska license before start if direct hire)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or obtain within 6 months and maintain)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred and required for ED nurses
• Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC within 3 months and every three years
• High Risk Competency - SEARHC within 3 months and every year

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate’s degree in nursing, or Diploma in nursing)
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures
• Understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines for hospital and long-term care
• Skilled at working harmoniously with and supervising diverse teams
• Ability to innovate by seeking new methods and incorporating them into practice
• Strong independent decision-making in high-pressure situations
• Tactful communication with patients, families, staff, and agencies
