Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver expert nursing care for patients of all ages in emergency and acute settings
- Supervise team members to ensure top-notch patient safety and care
- Make independent clinical decisions with confidence during your shift
- Develop care plans and maintain warm, supportive environments for patients and families
- Respond calmly to emergencies, delegating effectively and leading with poise
- Maintain accurate records, transcribe orders, and keep supplies stocked for seamless operations
- Collaborate across departments to uphold the highest standards of nursing excellence
Qualifications
- Current full, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state (must apply for Alaska license before start if direct hire)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or obtain within 6 months and maintain)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred and required for ED nurses
- Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC within 3 months and every three years
- High Risk Competency - SEARHC within 3 months and every year
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate’s degree in nursing, or Diploma in nursing)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures
- Understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines for hospital and long-term care
- Skilled at working harmoniously with and supervising diverse teams
- Ability to innovate by seeking new methods and incorporating them into practice
- Strong independent decision-making in high-pressure situations
- Tactful communication with patients, families, staff, and agencies
