Roles & Responsibilities

Perform initial triage and assessments for patients of all ages in urgent care
Provide telephone advice and self-care guidance
Administer medications via multiple routes including IV push and infusion
Initiate and maintain IV access while monitoring patients closely
Coordinate patient care referrals and track progress proactively
Document all interventions and educate patients on their health
Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth patient flow and departmental coverage
Respond to emergencies and participate in quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

Current full unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire
High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

Nursing process and critical thinking
Patient assessment and prioritization
Medication administration and IV therapy
Customer service and infection control principles
Multi-tasking in fast-paced urgent care environment
Electronic medical records and charting
