Roles & Responsibilities

Implement and evaluate a comprehensive risk management program to protect patients and staff
Provide leadership as Patient Safety Officer with oversight of organization-wide safety initiatives
Investigate adverse incidents and ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal standards
Facilitate Root Cause Analyses and Failure Mode Effects Analyses for process improvements
Conduct Patient Safety Rounds and deliver risk management education to teams and physicians
Collaborate with Medical Directors and leadership on quality of care issues
Analyze patient grievances and coordinate disclosures with empathy and precision
Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes like DNV, TJC, CMS, and CARF

Qualifications

Current full, unrestricted, active Registered Nursing license in Alaska
Certified CPHRM within two years
Clinical Competency required within 3 months and every 3 years thereafter
3+ years experience in risk management, patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance

Education

Registered Nursing license in Alaska

Knowledge & Skills

Risk management program implementation
Patient safety oversight and process improvements
Adverse incident investigation and regulatory reporting
Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and Failure Mode Effects Analyses (FMEA)
Knowledge of DNV, TJC, CMS, CARF standards
Leadership in cross-functional teams and collaborative decision-making
