Location: Spokane, WA

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem operating room shifts, 4-hour blocks; exact start/end times and days vary (orientation required, schedule assigned per availability)

Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment for procedures
Anticipate surgeon and team needs and pass instruments efficiently and safely
Assist with setup and breakdown of surgical instruments and equipment
Ensure strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
Communicate clearly with the surgical team to support smooth case flow
Participate in orientation and ongoing competency validation as required

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or completion of an accredited surgical technologist program
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
Ability to work in an operating room environment and follow sterile technique
Professional, reliable, and able to pass required facility onboarding checks
Comfortable working per diem with flexible availability

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, and OR workflow
Familiarity with common surgical instruments and equipment handling
Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced setting
Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Basic documentation skills and ability to follow facility protocols
