Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the operating room with instruments and sterile supplies
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and anticipating needs during procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure infection control standards are met
• Verify and count instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures
• Inspect and ensure proper function of surgical equipment and instrumentation
• Document procedures and maintain accurate perioperative records
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and staff to optimize patient safety and outcomes

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• ORT/CST specialty experience in the Operating Room
• Minimum 2 years of relevant OR experience (as listed in the job details)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Active state-required credentials or ability to obtain licensure for Kansas

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR instrumentation
• Familiarity with common surgical procedures and perioperative workflow
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-paced environments
• Ability to maintain accurate counts and documentation
• Comfortable with OR equipment setup, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance
