Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function using evidence-based tools
• Develop individualized treatment plans that set measurable, meaningful goals for each patient
• Provide skilled therapy and adaptive strategies to help patients progress toward functional communication
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and family members to deliver coordinated care
• Document progress promptly and clearly to support continuity of care and reporting
• Coach caregivers and staff on carryover strategies to maximize patient outcomes
• Participate in team meetings and discharge planning to ensure safe transitions

Qualifications

• Valid Washington state SLP license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA CCC-SLP) preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Comfort working in a rehab/contract setting and adapting to a busy interdisciplinary environment
• Strong documentation skills and clinical judgment, with a patient-centered approach

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and intervention for speech, language, cognition, and swallowing
• Experience with dysphagia management and safe swallowing strategies
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) approaches
• Excellent interdisciplinary communication and care coordination skills
• Proficient documentation and progress-tracking to support outcomes and reporting
