Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM (10-hour day shift) or Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8-hour day shift); rotating on-call nights weekdays 6:00 PM - 7:00 AM (could be 2-3 times per week) and weekends on-call only — rotating coverage

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams including general abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts and vascular Doppler studies
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment (GE and Philips), ensuring images are accurately archived in PACS and charted in Epic
• Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to provide timely, diagnostic-quality imaging and expedite patient care
• Ensure patient safety and comfort, following radiation safety protocols and wearing agency-provided radiation badge
• Accurately document findings, maintain exam logs and ensure compliance with department policies
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent imaging needs when assigned
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through clear communication and professional bedside manner

Qualifications

• ARDMS/RDMS certification required (RDMS preferred; RDCS or RVT considered as supplemental qualifications)
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of ultrasound/sonography experience preferred
• Comfortable performing OB/GYN, general, small parts and Doppler studies (legs/arms)
• Proficiency with Epic and Synapse/PACS systems and experience with GE and Philips equipment
• Ability to participate in rotating on-call schedule and be in-state for orientation week
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to comply with 60-mile radius submission requirement

Education

• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program or equivalent
• ARDMS (RDMS) certification required; additional ARDMS credentials (RDCS, RVT) are a plus
• BLS (AHA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong hands-on sonography skills including OB/GYN, small parts and vascular Doppler techniques
• Familiarity with PACS, Synapse and Epic charting workflows
• Competence operating GE and Philips ultrasound systems
• Excellent patient communication and the ability to prioritize studies in a busy acute care setting
• Attention to image quality, documentation accuracy and radiation safety procedures
• Team collaboration and the ability to work independently when needed
