Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
• Assist nursing staff with patient transfers and ambulation to keep patients safe
• Support activities of daily living while promoting patient dignity and independence
• Document care provided in a clear, timely manner according to policy
• Communicate effectively with the care team and patients’ families to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of California (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Comfortable working independently on per-diem assignments and adapting quickly to new teams
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• State-approved CNA training program completion and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care fundamentals and safe transfer techniques
• Knowledge of vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
• Clear documentation and time-management skills
• Infection prevention and proper PPE usage
• Compassionate communication and teamwork
• Basic understanding of common care plans and activities of daily living
