Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (exact start/end times and days to be confirmed with the scheduling team) - RN - SDU

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to SDU patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings clearly
Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team
Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions
Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or ability to obtain prior to start
Current BLS certification required, ACLS preferred or encouraged
Prior experience in progressive care, step-down, or telemetry settings is a strong plus
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
Ability to handle the pace of a step-down unit and prioritize care effectively

Education

Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing, or BSN. BSN preferred but not required.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and progressive care practices
Skilled in medication administration and electronic charting
Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
Comfortable with procedures and rapid response protocols
