Registered Nurse - Palliative Care
Location: Carmichael, California

Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 8-hour day shifts
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage a meaningful caseload of 5-6 new patients and 3-4 follow-ups daily
- Lead compassionate goals-of-care discussions with patients and families
- Educate patients on disease processes, advance directives, and POLSTs
- Facilitate family meetings and provide end-of-life support
- Review patient charts and assess individual needs with clinical expertise
- Collaborate during daily rounds with physicians and the care team
- Develop daily patient lists to ensure seamless care coordination
Qualifications
- Active California RN license required
- 2-5 years of recent palliative or hospice experience
- BLS certification required
- ELNEC certification preferred
- Strong acute care, clinical thinking, and communication skills
- ICU or oncology experience is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Cerner EMR proficiency
- Palliative care screening and consultation expertise
- Excellent organizational and flexibility skills
- Compassionate approach to serving patients and families
- Strong ability to work across multiple hospital units
